Auto Motor und Sport high speed event at Nardo - McLaren Mercedes SLR 722, Ruf RT 12, Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06, BMW M6, Porsche GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo Superlaggera, top speed and acceleration test.

After we had the privilege to post a Gallardo Superleggera spotted on the streets which is always pleasant to see, yet another has been spotted. I really can't get enough of its astonishing appaerance. The combonation with its dark grey color, dark rims and carbon fibre/alcantara materials is perfect in my eyes. More pictures? St. Moritz is just the perfect spot to hold meetings like this one. Since the 50's, rallies and meetings are common on that beautiful 1600mtrs high plateau in the southern Swiss Alps. Honestly, I don't know if this is the first time that this event takes place, but I can imagine that with those great roads/passes this must be an awesome event. I absolutely love the color of this Gallardo Superleggera, the overall look of it is simply just gorgeous. A lucky Czech GTspirit forum member took the Italian bolide on a trip and took these pictures. The limited edition, track-friendly Gallardo is limited to 350 units for 2007, so you must be lucky to catch one on the streets, let alone driving one. A few days ago we reported about Edo's Shark 997 which I found a great overall looking car! The same goes for this Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, which (for the color scheme) reminds me a little bit on the Gallardo Superleggera.

Due to modifications to the engine's ECU, special high-flow air filters, high-performance catalytic converters, new exhaust butterfly valve control (remote-controlled on request), a high-flow muffler and stainless steel exhaust tips its horsepower has been increased up to 663, the 6.5-litre V12 gives you 675 Nm of torque, accelerating in 3.8 secs from 0-100 km/h with a top speed of 348 km/h.

Furthermore only some minor details have been added, a specially designed rear wing with an adjustable lip, and a custom paintjob for the wheels. Inside you can find a carbon fiber interior and a handy rear view camera. Good enough for you...?

-Porsche 997 GT3 RS: 3.6-litre V6 with 415hp goes from 0-100 km/u in 4,6s price: €133.000

"The LP640 is wild enough" Stephan Winkelmann (Lamborghini's president) said. Well it seems he changed is mind- altough no one at Lamborghini officialy confirmed its existence, this will going to be the LP640 Superveloce and not the Murcielago Superleggera as said before.

Back in the seventies the extraordinairy and glorious Muria P400 got this name, later also seen on the Diablo (Superveloce is Italian for High Speed). Just like the Gallardo Superleggera the SV will be more lighter with a weight loss of 100Kg, boosting its power its power-to-weight ratio to 409bhp per tonne. Click "Read more"

The Gallardo Superleggera isn't exactly new but here are some new images. The lightweight supercar got 10 extra horses, one hundred kilo weight reduction (70kg for the US), and reaches 100km/u (62mph) in just 3.8 seconds. For some celebrities, a regular Lamborghini just doesn't cut it. 50 Cent gave his an all-chrome paint job, and Bam Margera of "Jackass" famously cut a sunroof into his Murcielago using a saw. For basketball star Shaquille O'Neal, his Lamborghini modifications were made, not out of vanity, but necessity.

A regular Lamborghini Gallardo's lenght measures 7 ft 1, not long enough for shaq. That's where Metalcrafters came in, they stretched O'neil's car 12 inches trough the midlle with custom extended doors, roof and side windows. The company tells, the biggest challenge with this project was fabricating the glass while maintaining the proportions of the lines , making everything bigger".

Recently the Belgian Police got a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Porsche Turbo, probably this is ment to be as a promotion stunt. Otherwise, Belgian people might have to be carefull knowing that there is a possibility to get a Gallardo or Porsche Turbo behind them. Belgians probably don't have forgotten the Porsche Turbo's Police forces used many years ago.
